Saturday was Hood to Coast Day. \u00a0It was a day that Seaside locals had been warning us about since we got here. \u00a0They told us that we should plan on leaving for the weekend or staying home for the weekend. \u00a0We did neither. \u00a0Haha. Hood to Coast is a 200 mile relay race that ends on the beach in Seaside. \u00a0There is a huge influx of people in the town and a big party on the beach. \u00a0We wanted to see what all the talk was about so we met Don and Paula in town and checked it out for a while.<\/p>\n

We started by waiting in a long line to get into the 21 and over section of the beach.<\/p>\n

There were lots of people and it started out as a nice day. \u00a0Here are a couple of sand castles that we saw.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

As with any event, the prices were outrageous so we decided to go elsewhere to eat lunch. \u00a0We tried a Mexican restaurant in town. \u00a0They had good margaritas and really good pico de gallo (after I had them put jalape\u00f1o peppers in it). \u00a0I thought that jalape\u00f1os were a standard ingredient in pico, but not around here. \u00a0They say most people don\u2019t like it that spicy. \u00a0Weird.<\/p>\n

One flag for each margarita (but there was one not shown because it was in my ponytail)<\/p>\n

After lunch, we headed back to the beach. \u00a0We tried some free samples of hard kombucha (not my favorite). \u00a0We played some cornhole and did some people watching.<\/p>\n
