Kayaking, Topsail Island, & Carolina Beach State Park
Finally got my new kayak out on the water. We took a ferry ride over and kayaked to and around shark tooth island. My friend Jennjoined us with her paddle board. We had a very enjoyable day. The weather was beautiful and the water was like glass. Unfortunately, we missed the low tide so no shark tooth hunting for us. The bugs decided to make a presence which caused Scott to paddle back to the car to get the bug spray. Thank goodness we had some, otherwise we would have had to cut the trip short. Afterwards we joined our friends at Flaming Amy’s for lunch. So glad Scott will now kayak with me.
I was able to get away for part of the weekend to hang out with one of my best friends Dorothy. She was staying in Topsail Island which I had never been to. Her and Kristin had a couple of other friends over and they invited me to join them. I always have a great time with them. Can’t wait to hang out with them again.
Scott and I headed over to Carolina Beach State Park to walk some of the trails and look for Venus Flytraps and Pitcher Plants. Fun fact: Venus flytraps are only found naturally within about a 90 mile radius of Wilmington, NC. It was such a nice walk. We will definitely do it again and even take the dogs with us the next time.
