On Sunday Scott and I went over to Oak Island to climb to the top of the lighthouse. We learned a lot about the lighthouse and then made our way to the top. The coloring for the lighthouse is actually in the concrete, therefore it never has to be painted. The route to the top is via ships ladders. It actually seemed a little easier to ascend than the typical stairs in lighthouses. We made it to the top and enjoyed the view until they told us we had to make our way down. Thankfully, the weather ended up being really nice while we were there. Notice how calm the ocean is.

Later in the afternoon we went down to American Fish to enjoy the Doorsmen Band. It was a nice afternoon until the rain came, but even then it didn’t last long and didn’t stop the show.
