Our long weekend comes to an end today. Sadly, it ended without a moose sighting. We returned our rental car first thing this morning and then went for a scenic ride to Rangeley, Maine. I had read about a very beautiful scenic overlook. We got there only to find that they did not plow the overlook. Lucky for us there was not a lot of traffic and we were able to pull over a little and take in the view of Mooselookmeguntic Lake.

The scenic byway was a beautiful snow covered drive.

On our way to Rangeley we drove through some towns that sounded like they were far away.

We also went by part of the Appalachian Trail. You can’t really see the signage due to snow.

We checked off another sight from a list of places to see in Maine. This spot is actually not halfway, but it’s close.

Despite not seeing any moose, we had a great weekend. We went to some new places, tried new things, and got to see some beautiful sights.
