Sunny Days
We have had some beautiful weather while we have been here. We have been taking advantage of it by spending lots of time by the pool, walking on the beach, and riding our bikes around town.
Here are some pictures from our rides/walks around town.
The enjoy watching these boats coming into the port. They are always followed by lots of birds. This one seemed to have a lot more than the others we have seen.
We have also discovered that the streets along the water become flooded during high tide. One of the restaurants even has a special bridge that they put out during the tide so people can get inside without wading through the water.
We went to Oak Island to check out the newly opened pier. While we were up there, we could see that there were hundreds of jellyfish in the ocean!
Next, we drove to see the Oak Island Lighthouse. You can climb to the top but you have to schedule it in advance. We scheduled our climb for a couple of weeks from now.
Tonight we went to listen to a band down on the water. On our walk home we stopped to watch the sunset and we were able to see dolphins swimming in the intercostal waterway.
