Firefighter Competition
On Saturday I walked down to see one of the 4th of July events Southport does. They invite area firefighters to a friendly competition. During the day, they run several relay events, and I took some pictures of a few. The heat (and the crowd) kept me from hanging around for all of it, but it was neat. I got to see the Sheriff’s helicopter, chatted with the pilot of another air ambulance, and poked around some of the trucks and some of their gear. I had to do this all alone because Carolynn was getting a foot soak and deep tissue massage. Priorities.
On Monday, I dragged Carolynn down to see the ZIM Rotterdam. 1145 feet. The longest boat that comes through here.
