It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas!
Tis’ the season… Everyone around here is getting into the Christmas spirit. Between Southport and Oak Island, Holiday Fest lasts for 7 days. We look forward to some of the activities this weekend but last weekend we attended the Christmas by the Sea parade on Oak Island, followed by skydiving Santa’s, elves, and the grinch landing on the beach. Here are a few pictures from the parade and skydivers.
While we waited on the parade, we sat on the pier and watched the shrimp boats. There must have literally been something in the water because there were so many shrimp boats in such a close proximity. It’s hard to see in the picture, but if you zoom in you can see a bunch of them.
Here are some of the decorations we have up at our house. There are still more to come.
As part of the Holiday Fest a few of the stores had an open night block party in which they had free food, wine, games, drawings, etc. Hammer and Stain was offering a free ornament so I went and painted one. I also entered for a door prize at the jewelry store and got a call the next day that I was a winner! It wasn’t a diamond, but I’ll take it. Haha
Here are some pictures from our ride around town. Some of them are not so great because it was really foggy/misty when we took the pictures. We will take more later.
I’ll make sure to take lots of pictures of the festivities we attend this weekend.
