This, That, and St. Pat

The day before we went to get Mack, we had a very busy schedule. We started the day with a trip over to Oak Island for their Mardi Gras festivities. We did not do the parade (it was a flip flop parade, meaning you drove by the floats instead of the floats driving by you and you had to stay in your car) but we did go to the craft market. We walked around for a little bit but we didn’t stay long because we wanted to get to the next destination. Stop #2: St Patrick’s Day block party in Southport. We dressed in green and rode our bikes down to the waterfront. We had hot dogs at the Trolly Stop and green beer at Silver Coast. While we were enjoying the food, drink, and people watching, we were entertained by a man playing bagpipes.

After this, we headed home to prepare for our 80’s themed party with some work friends. It was a lot of fun but also a long day. The morning was going to come early (time change) and we had a long day ahead of us on Sunday too (getting Mack) but we didn’t let that hinder the fun.

They happened to be wearing the same shirt so I asked them to let me take a picture. This is what happened. Scott started it and I think he was quite surprised when Liz retaliated.
She tried a moonshine pickle. I don’t think she liked it. Haha

The tree on our walk that was decorated for Valentines Day was also decorated for St Patrick’s day. They painted little shells for people to take.

Here is my St Patrick’s day sign in my interchangeable frame.

On St Patrick’s Day, we joined in on a fun mile walk down by the water. They encouraged everyone to wear green and to come be active. We dressed up in our leprechaun hats and took Mack (who also wore a hat). After the walk, we went to Silver Coast where I enjoyed a green beer while we sat outside and people watched. Mack was a hit and everyone loved his green hat.

We also took him for a quick trip to Lowe’s. He got compliments on his hat there too.

Here’s just a few pictures of Mack being cute.

He likes it when we sit on the same couch so 2 people can pet him.

Scott decided to build him some stairs to make getting in and out of the bed a little easier. He wasn’t sure about them at first, but he went up and down them just fine.

We can’t wait to have more fun and adventures with Mack.

Now it’s time to take down all the green and put out the spring/Easter decor.
