This St Patrick’s day is one for the books. And sadly not because of a wild and crazy party. Since we are in the beginning of the Corona Pandemic, none of the restaurants or bars were open for dine in services. We were able to take part in Shamrocks on South Howe to generate business for the local places that…
Today we ventured over to Oak Island for the Mardi Gras day parade and festival. It was a beautiful sunny day. A little chilly with the wind, but the sun felt amazing. The parade was super long with all kinds of participants including golf carts, dancers, fire trucks, dogs, horses, beauty queens, and even Beetlejuice. We were towards the end…
Here are a few of the things we have built, painted, changed, or added to the house. Scott built the scrabble tiles and I pained them. This is a coffee table we bought from a resale shop in town and we decided to paint it. The top is painted with chalkboard paint so that we can write messages, etc on…
My mom and dad came down for a quick day visit. It was my dads first time seeing the house in person. They brought Rocko along with them. He was not quite sure what to think about being at a house where he could hear so many of the sounds around us. My parents also brought along a grill that…
This weekend we had a full house. My niece Taylor had a cheer competition in Wilmington so they came down to spend the night with us before the competition. My mom, bother, sister in law, her mom, my nephew, and 2 nieces all came to hang out. Although our visit was brief, it was enjoyable. Saturday morning once everyone was…

While we were there, we ran into a sales rep from work and he bought pitchers of margaritas for our table! After we ate, we went bowling. But, on our way to the alley we stopped at Krispy Kreme for some…
It has been quite the year! We started the year as Gypsies in Washington and ended the year as homeowners on the coast of North Carolina. Here are some pictures of the last sunset of 2019. We went to a local beer joint to ring in the new year. Close enough that we didn’t have to worry about driving home.…
Christmas is fast approaching and there is a lot going on. We had a work party at a friends house. We played games, drank, had a sock exchange, ate, and just had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the work party. That same weekend on Saturday, our friend Dana came to visit us. Southport had a lot…
Tis’ the season… Everyone around here is getting into the Christmas spirit. Between Southport and Oak Island, Holiday Fest lasts for 7 days. We look forward to some of the activities this weekend but last weekend we attended the Christmas by the Sea parade on Oak Island, followed by skydiving Santa’s, elves, and the grinch landing on the beach. Here…
