Scott and I decided to take advantage of having a weekday off together and we went to Greenfield Lake in Wilmington to ride the paddle boats. It was an absolutely beautiful day. We got there as soon as they opened and it’s a good thing because the boats rented out immediately. We paddled around for 2 hours taking in the scenery and listening to the audio tour. We saw several alligators, fish, and lots of turtles! We would love to go back, but with our kayaks instead of the paddle boats.

Later that evening, I met up with my “January Friends” and we went to Wilmington for dinner and drinks. We are all so very different and maybe even unlikely matches for friends, but it always refreshing to hang out with them and we just seem to mesh so well. We had dinner and then walked around Wilmington and went to several places for drinks. For some reason, I totally flaked on getting any pictures of us.

On Saturday, we got together again, but this time on the boats and headed to the west end of Oak Island to hang out on the beach. We had perfect weather! The water was frigid, but the sun was so toasty. We even got to see a boat pulled off the sandbar before we left.
