May 2026
Started May off with dinner in Wilmington with my “January Friends” at a nice waterfront restaurant. After dinner, we walked the riverwalk, had a drink in a bar, and went on a walking ghost tour. The dinner and company were a lot of fun. The ghost tour was sadly, kind of a snooze fest. Oh well…you live and you learn.

We celebrated Nurses week at the hospital with a Hollywood theme. Liz and I decorated the lounge which include a wall of stars for all of our nurses. We arranged lunches and/or breakfast for all the days of the week, made koozies for all of our surgical services nurses, and put together a movie bucket for the OR nurses. Thankful to have so a great team of nurses to work with everyday.

These are my latest stained glass creations. I made a hedgehog for my friend Justine. She needed some cheering up. I made a Megladon tooth for Chelsea. She dives for real ones and is getting ready to leave for a few months. The beer glass was for my brothers birthday because, well, he likes beer.

Made a quick trip to Rockingham for Mother’s Day/Tinley’s birthday/Mikey’s birthday. We opened up their pool and let the dogs take a swim. It was still too cold for the adults. Always good to get a quick visit with them.

Scott and I wanted to take advantage of a beautiful weather day and take the kayaks out to Rice Creek. I have been wanting to kayak there for awhile. It was beautiful and peaceful. We passed a couple of kayakers and a few boaters, but other than that, we had the place to ourselves. Turtles and deer were the only wildlife we saw…no gators. Lots of cool flowers though. Will definitely go back!

Game night! Not too much more needs to be said about that. Haha. It has been a while since we’ve had one and it was very much needed. As always, we shared good food and lots of laughs. Can’t wait until the next one.

So…my mom did a thing! She retired! After 33+ years with Richmond County Schools, she now gets permanent summer break! My brother and I were honored to be her guests to the county retirement dinner. I know it will be an adjustment for her, but I’m hoping it’s a happy one. I am so proud of her!

Because MOST of the pictures on my phone are of Moose and Anna, I thought I would include some. They aren’t necessarily of them doing tricks or anything special, just them being them. I know I’m biased, but they are so stinking cute.
